‘All indications’ – Alasdair Gold thinks Spurs could receive a bid from Saudi this summer
Alasdair Gold has said that everything points to Tottenham Hotspur receiving an offer from Saudi Arabia for Richarlison in the summer.
Richarlison has well and truly turned a corner over the last few months, finding the back of the net with regularity since December.
The 26-year-old has shown that he is good enough to lead the line for Ange Postecoglou’s men but it has been reported by various outlets over the last few weeks that Tottenham are expected to target a marquee number nine in the summer (Football Insider).
Meanwhile, The Telegraph suggested last week that Richarlison is expected to be the subject of interest from the Middle East when the transfer window reopens in June.
The publication explained that Al-Ittihad made a late check on the Brazil international last summer when their bid for Mohamed Salah failed but their interest never progressed into an official offer.
It was asserted that Al-Ittihad are now expected to be joined by other Saudi sides in the race for the Tottenham man next summer, with the competition allowing increased places for foreign players from next season.
Richarlison could receive Saudi offers this summer
Gold has now also backed the former Everton man to be the subject of offers from the Saudi Pro League.
The journalist said on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast: “I’m intrigued to see what happens with Richarlison this summer. All the indications seem to be that there could be another bid coming in from a Saudi club. Let’s say you get your money back, £60m, would you take it?”

Tottenham might be quite tempted to take £60m for Richarlison, given the striker’s injury woes. That would perhaps allow Ange Postecoglou’s men to press ahead with a move for Ivan Toney, who could be available for a similar fee, given that he will have just a year left on his contract with Brentford.
