Delayed by the incumbent Macky Sall who had tried to postpone elections from February to as late as December, Senegalese voters will choose their next President on Sunday after an express campaign that has lasted only 12 days. Although there are 17 candidates, two are stealing the limelight: Former prime minister and Sall’s chosen successor Amadou Ba, and anti-establishment candidate Bassirou Diomaye Faye, deputy to Sall’s long-time rival Ousmane Sonko.
