Schenectady man gets 11 years for drug and firearm offenses
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Jeffrey C. Civitello Jr., 24, of Schenectady, was sentenced to eleven years and one day in prison. Civitello Jr. previously pled guilty to drug and firearm charges connected to a drug trafficking conspiracy.
Civitello Jr. admitted that from 2019 to 2021, he and others conspired to acquire and sell over 100 kilograms of marijuana. On October 21, 2021, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration executed a federal search warrant at his residence and located around 75 pounds of marijuana, over $400K in cash, and a 14-karat Miami Cuban chain.
Investigators also located a loaded Taurus Judge Public Defender revolver and a loaded Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 rifle with a high-capacity magazine. Civitello Jr. admitted the firearms were to protect himself, the drugs, and his proceeds.
Civitello Jr. was also found guilty of cocaine offenses in a trial held in April 2023. He, his father, Jeffrey C. Civitello, Sr., and three others reportedly conspired to traffic around 15 kilograms of cocaine in March and April 2021. Civitello Sr. was sentenced to ten years in prison.
In addition to the prison sentence, Civitello Jr. was ordered to forfeit $407,545 in cash, the firearms and ammunition, and the Miami Cuban chain. He will serve five years of post-release supervision. He also agreed to an entry of a $250,000 money judgment against him.
