Scotia man arrested for allegedly impersonating DEA agent
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Scotia man has been arrested following a traffic stop in Albany, according to the Albany County Sheriff's Office. Jack Lather, 41, is facing multiple charges.
On March 21 at 4:09 p.m., deputies stopped a car near Clinton Avenue and Ontario Street in Albany for a traffic violation. An ensuing investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle, identified as Lather, was found to be in possession of a replica Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent badge and other DEA insignia, as well as a quantity of fentanyl.
Lather was charged with first-degree criminal impersonation and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Albany City Criminal Court on April 3.
