Thanks for all the ‘bon mots,’ Dan Rodricks | READER COMMENTARY
I have been a fan of Dan Rodricks ever since he came to my 12th grade classes many years ago to speak —- at my students’ request. He provided an interesting and thought-provoking lesson and I was most appreciative of his time with us. His recent column sharing “ quotes and bon mots” he has learned from others made me smile. I especially enjoyed “if you want to get ahead in this world, learn to golf.” My husband would have loved that one (“Dan Rodricks: Almost 30 memorable quotes and bon mots,” March 22).
I would like to share with him one of my favorite quotes: “The greatness in life is to plant a tree in whose shade we will never rest.” Thank you, Dan Rodricks, for the shade your tree has provided for me and many other readers over the years.
