UAlbany, FMCC create dual enrollment agreement
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two local colleges are teaming up to help more students pursue a bachelor's degree. The University at Albany signed a dual enrollment partnership with Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Tuesday.
It will allow students to apply to both schools at the same time and automatically have Junior Year status at UAlbany after receiving their associate's degree. Students will also have access to UAlbany facilities and an admissions counselor while at FMCC.
UAlbany reached a similar agreement with Hudson Valley Community College earlier in the month. Only about 20 percent of community college graduates earn a bachelor's degree.
Officials hope the new partnerships will make it easier for students to transition to a four-year institution.
