Hidden spy cameras are still available all over Amazon despite the firm being sued over the gadgets.

Ordinary everyday household objects have been turned into spy cams for anyone to buy.

An investigation by Metro.co.uk found recording devices in a number of innocent household items – as well as a host of minicams that can be hidden anywhere.

The products are being described as ‘security cameras’ that aim to protect your home from thieves or to ‘keep an eye’ on loved ones such as children or elderly relatives.

However, one ‘covert nanny video recorder’ shows a couple lying on a bed together, while another, a spy camera pen, shows a people talking in a meeting.

Some of the cameras are also installed with night vision and a 15-hour playtime. One hidden in a clothes hook is labelled as ‘Mini Spy Camera, You Need It Everywhere’.

Among the products concealing cameras are clocks, speakers, smoke alarms, hats, glasses and alarm clocks.

Others include watches, car keys and USB chargers.

Most can be delivered within days.

The secret recording devices are still available through the online retail giant despite a US judge ruling that Amazon must face a case brought by a woman who claims she was filmed in the bathroom using a clothes hook camera.

She says that while sitting in a West Virginia home, and still legally a child, she was recorded in the bathroom by the camera. She is seeking punitive damages against Amazon Inc, Amazon.com Services LLC and other unnamed defendants as the use of the camera was ‘foreseeable to Amazon’.

The man alleged to have been responsible is facing trial.

Last year, Amazon agreed to pay millions to settle separate privacy cases against its Alexa and Ring doorbell devices, as it was alleged that Amazon employees had unrestricted access to customers’ sensitive video data via Ring.

In one instance, the case alleged a former employee had watched 81 different women through the company’s cameras.
