Man fatally struck by train at 183rd St. station in the Bronx: NYPD
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A man was fatally struck by a subway train at the 183rd Street station in the Bronx Thursday evening, according to officials.
The accident happened around 9:30 p.m., and the man was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.
MTA officials said southbound No. 4 trains are experiencing delays, and there is no No. 4 train between 167th Street and Woodlawn Avenue in either direction.
Train riders can use the D train between Manhattan and the Bronx as an alternate route. The MTA is also suggesting the Bx10 bus, which also provides service between Bedford Park Boulevard and Woodlawn.
The incident does not appear to be criminal in nature, according to the NYPD.
Additional information was not immediately available.
