I-5 reopens after Thursday night emergency repairs
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Interstate 5 southbound is open again Friday morning after being shut down for emergency repairs Thursday night.
The repairs needed to be done after a bridge joint failed, however, the Oregon Department of Transportation assured that the damage was due to wear and tear, not structural damage.
The bridge was closed during Thursday evening rush hour and drivers were detoured using southbound 405.
According to ODOT, the failed joint attached two sections of freeway overpass for Greeley Avenue.
