Agent reveals it will be up to six weeks before Spurs player can even run again

Manor Solomon has not played since the end of September, and his agent has now revealed it is very unlikely we will see him playing for Tottenham Hotspur again this season.

The free signing of Solomon last summer was seen as a very smart piece of business by Tottenham. Indeed, with two assists in his first five games, the winger looked to be having a positive impact under Ange Postecoglou (Transfermarkt).

However, Solomon’s season came to a premature end when he suffered a torn meniscus. It was initially claimed the Israeli would be facing up to three months on the sidelines (Raz Amir).

Despite surgery and a lengthy recovery period, it has now been six months and we are no closer to Solomon’s return.

Don’t expect to see Solomon again this season

It was claimed last week that Spurs do not expect to see Solomon playing again this season (Football Insider), and that the club were happy to take their time to let Solomon recover effectively over the summer.

Now, Shlomi Ben Ezra, the player’s agent, has corroborated this idea, stating it will be up to six weeks before Solomon can even run again.

He told Sport1: “He underwent a small operation ten days ago. In five, six weeks, he may start running again.

“[Solomon has had] a lot of bad luck. But it is better that he arrives ready for the next season. With God’s help, we will soon see him back on the grass.”

This has been such a frustrating situation for everyone involved. It must feel like a wasted signing from Tottenham’s perspective, having only gotten six games out of Solomon. Hopefully, this injury doesn’t have any long-lasting impact on the way he plays and he can return as strong as ever next season.
