LSU star Angel Reese asks for prayers following bridge collapse in Baltimore
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - LSU women's basketball forward Angel Reese is asking for everyone to pray for her hometown after the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed on Tuesday, March 26.
Reese, who is from Baltimore and attended St. Frances Academy, went on social media and asked for prayers.
The major bridge fell into the Patapsco River after the Dali, a cargo ship struck it. Officials believed at least six people were killed as a result.
According to the Associated Press, the ship lost power and crashed into a pillar which caused the collapse.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers deployed more than 1,100 people to help unload the ship’s cargo, clear wreckage from the water and recover bodies.
