Albany Police confirmed that there was a shots fired incident in the area of Grand Street and Madison Avenue in Albany on Saturday afternoon at around 2:40 p.m. Also, college basketball fans flooded into MVP Arena for both days of the NCAA Tournament. 1. Shots fired in Albany on Saturday
Albany Police confirmed that there was a shots fired incident in the area of Grand Street and Madison Avenue in Albany on Saturday afternoon at around 2:40 p.m. This happened less than a quarter mile from the NCAA Tournament, held at MVP Arena.
2. Troy Police investigating an alleged assault
The Troy Police Department announced that it is investigating an assault that allegedly occurred around midnight on Sunday near Second Street and Tyler Street in Troy. Police say that a male victim reported being stabbed by another male during a dispute, allegedly leaving him with a non-life-threatening injury.
3. NCAA fan reaction from second day of women’s tournament
College basketball fans flooded into MVP Arena for the second day of the NCAA Tournament. The day bringing two big match-ups, lots of fan excitement, and Caitlin Clark hitting the court for the first time in Albany.
4. Halfmoon debris cleanup following snow and ice storm starting Monday
In response to the recent storm that came through the Capital Region, the town of Halfmoon will hold a townwide cleanup starting on Monday. Halfmoon residents can place any storm-damaged tree limbs at the edge of the road with the larger end facing the roadway for removal by the Halfmoon Highway Department.
5. Schenectady teen saves choking senior citizen
Beck Dodd, a Schenectady High School student, was honored by the Town of Niskayuna after his heroic actions saved the life of Rose Knightly. The senior citizen was choking during lunch at the Niskayuna Senior Center when Dodd jumped into action to perform the Heimlich maneuver.
