Fultonville woman accused of having meth, cocaine
FONDA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of Katie Newkirk, 31, of Fultonville, that occurred on Thursday at around 12:30 a.m. Newkirk was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The Sheriff's Office reported that this arrest followed a traffic stop in Fonda where Newkirk was the passenger. Police say probable cause was gained to conduct a car search and Newkirk allegedly had meth, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.
Newkirk was processed at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office for the charges and held overnight pending arraignment. She was arraigned in the Town of Mohawk Court and released with a scheduled return to court at a later date.
