Vizag: Sunil Narine has been one of the biggest factors for the success of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024. Not only has he been coming good with the ball, but he has been unstoppable with the bat as well. And Wednesday was no different as Narine hit a breathtaking 85 off 39 balls. He truly set the Vizag stadium on fire. Following the KKR win, Narine, who was awarded the Player of The Match, admitted that cricket is all about batting. He also said that it is always about what the team requires at a certain stage.

“Cricket is all about batting, so to contribute with the bat is pleasing but I also enjoy my bowling. (On batting down the order with Abu Dhabi Knight Riders) We had sufficient batters, so opening was not needed then. At the end of the day, it is about what the team requires,” Narine said at the post-match presentation.

“On a good wicket like that, I tried to keep things tight. With the scoreboard pressure on them, it was much easier tonight. Overall, I say that it was a complete team performance with the ball. Wickets up front with the new ball, and we kept the lid on the scoring throughout. We wanted to win by a bigger margin, so it helps later on in the tournament,” concluded Narine.
