CORONATION Street is teasing a shocking affair between a former couple as both their love lives crash and burn.
The ITV soap will throw together exes Sarah Platt and Gary Windass next week when both of them find themselves struggling.
With Sarah reeling from losing boyfriend Damon Hay to prison for armed robbery, Gary is struggling with Maria shutting him out.
Next week Gary’s stepson Liam announces that he feels ready to return to school but Maria refuses to discuss it.
And Gary’s hurt as Maria implies that he isn’t Liam’s real dad as she tells him it’s different for her.
On the street, Sarah confides in Gary that it’s Damon’s sentencing today and in turn, Gary tells her about Liam’s suicidal thoughts.
Having invited her back to the flat, Gary tells Sarah about Maria’s overprotective behaviour and how it’s ruining their relationship.
But as they speak it becomes clear that Maria is snooping.
Viewers know she has installed a secret camera in the flat after her trauma at discovering son Liam was researching ways to end his life.
But as Maria checks her camera app, she is intrigued to see Sarah and Gary in the flat.
As Maria turns up the volume and hears their conversation, she’s hurt.
Sarah takes a call from Dee-Dee telling her that Damon got six years and as she starts to cry, Gary takes her in his arms.
But will a comforting hug turn into something else?
And is Sarah set to have yet another affair with yet another ex-boyfriend?
