The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 4th April) Championship in uproar after true extent of LCFC accounts disclosed

Good Morning. It's Thursday 4th April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Championship in uproar after true extent of LCFC accounts disclosed

Championship clubs including Leeds Utd have reacted with outrage after the true extent of Leicester City's financial mess was disclosed on Tuesday.

Foxes Chief Executive Susan Whelan delivered the news during a press release, revealing a pre-tax loss of £89.7m, on the back of a record £92.5m loss the season before.

Investigations have shown that the East Midlands outfit had the highest wage bill outside of the Premier League's top six last season, plus none of their players had relegation clauses in their contracts.

Therefor, Leicester City's wage bill this season stands at £60,190,000, considerably higher than Southampton (£40,014,000) and Leeds (£39,513,000) or ten times higher than the likes of Rotherham Utd and Plymouth Argyle!

It also allowed Leicester City more leverage when negotiating the departures of James Maddison (£46.3m) and Harvey Barnes (£44m), even though they only had one and two years respectively left on their contracts.

Gruev on the mend

Leeds-live have this morning suggested that Ilia Gruev has returned to training ahead of the Whites visit to Coventry City at the weekend.

The 23yo midfielder missed the games against Watford and Hull City after injuring his ankle whilst on International duty with Bulgaria. The news comes on the back of Manchester Evening News reporter Conor McGilligan revealing yesterday (on his One Leeds Fan YouTube channel) that Gruev is expected to be passed fit to play on Saturday afternoon.

Daniel Farke should reveal all during his pre-match press conference later today, including Glen Kamara (illness) and Joe Rodon (back spasms) who got through the Hull City match aided by pain killing injections.

James to re-find mojo after wonder strike

Dan James' audacious strike against Hull on Easter Monday may give him the shot in the arm needed to re-find his mojo.

The 26yo hasn't hit the form we've been used to, since coming back from International Duty with Wales. Rob Page's Dragon's lost a penalty shoot out (to Poland) and the chance to play at the Euro's this Summer, after James failed to convert from twelve yards.

Scoring is one thing, but scoring from the half-way line, whilst being chased by half a dozen deranged Hull players is something else. Anyone who has watched the Crossbar Challenge will know how difficult it is to even hit the target from that far out from a stationary position!
