Pundit says Spurs need a player like Real Madrid star in their starting XI
Leroy Rosenior believes that Tottenham need a player who pulls the strings in the middle of the park like Luka Modric in order to get to the next level.
It is quite clear that Ange Postecoglou is already plotting a complete revamp of Spurs’ midfield for next season.
Swedish starlet Lucas Bergvall, who is continuing to turn a lot of heads in the Allsvenskan, will link up with the Tottenham squad before the start of the next campaign.
It has emerged recently that the Lilywhites are also looking for a top-quality addition in the number six role this summer.
This was suggested by Football.London’s Alasdair Gold a couple of days ago, with the journalist stating that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp could leave the club and that Postecoglou’s men are eyeing Atalanta’s Ederson as an option to compete with Yves Bissouma.

However, Rosenior believes that Spurs need an orchestrator like Modric in the middle of the park rather than an athletic midfielder who can stop opposition attacks.
The pundit told Premier League Productions: “I was just thinking about what Spurs need to get to the next level, and I see that shirt there behind you, Luka Modric, the. Number 14 there.
“I’m not saying Luka Modric, but that calibre of player, someone who will come in and be that superstar. Now you have the style of play is it about adding that superstar to that group of players?”

In Bentancur, Spurs arguably have someone of a similar profile to Modric, although the Uruguayan perhaps does not have the same range of passing that the Croat does. It will be quite interesting to see if Ange primarily uses the former Juve man as number six or number eight next season.
