Also, a third suspect was arrested in the Gloversville explosions investigation. 1. Near drowning at Great Escape Lodge
A 5-year-old was found unresponsive at the Great Escape Lodge Water Park on Saturday. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says the child was taken to Albany Hospital via Life Net and is in stable condition.
2. Third suspect arrested in Gloversville explosions investigation
A third person was arrested in the Gloversville explosion investigation. Emory Ostrander is accused of arson and was identified as the remaining suspect in connection to the Helwig Street explosions that occurred Wednesday last week. Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public and no additional suspects are being sought out.
3. Section of Maple Avenue in Glenville closed for bridge repairs
Maple Avenue in Glenville is closed this week for repairs to the rail trail bridge. The bridge was struck by a tanker truck carrying compressed natural gas in December last year. Drivers are advised to follow the signed detours that take them down Route 50 and Freemans Bridge Road.
4. Funeral for retired Albany Fire Chief Larson
Mourners gathered Monday morning to pay their respects to Former Albany Fire Department Chief James Larson who died last week. Larson spent 32 years with the Albany Fire Department, 13 years as chief. He was appointed chief in November 1986 and led the department from December 1897 to November 2000.
5. Troy accepting proposals for new city hall location
City leaders in Troy are asking for help with finding a permanent home for city hall. Officials announced a request for proposals on Monday. They are asking real estate developers, commercial property owners, and other professionals to give input on a suitable location.
