Zendaya Takes a Break From Louboutins and Slips Into Sheer Bottega Veneta Flats in NYC
Zendaya is giving her feet a break in a pair of flats. While in New York City, promoting her film “Challengers,” the actress was spotted in a pair of knit ballerina flats on April 22.
The star has been seen repeatedly in high heels for the past month. She’s preferred her Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pumps but has worn other styles like a pair of strappy Louis Vuitton stiletto sandals as well as a custom pair of white Loewe pumps featuring tennis balls. Most of her shoes have been white, riffing on the idea of “tennis whites.”
In “Challengers,” Zendaya plays Tashi, a former tennis superstar. After a life-changing injury, Tashi becomes the manager of her husband and is involved in a love triangle with him and her former boyfriend, his former best friend.
About the shoe
Not on a red carpet, Zendaya opted for the Bottega Veneta Atomic Knit ballerina flat. In the sea salt colorway, which is off-white, the stretch cotton footwear features a rounded toe with a fuly knit upper, the slip-on style conforms to the wearer’s foot and provides peaks of the top of the foot as it is unlined. The style also features a pull-tab at the back collar.
The shoe is currently retailing for $790.
Ballet Flats
Though ballet flats popped up as a major trend of 2023, its continuing through 2024. “We’ve seen ballet flats sweep the fashion world for months — from the streets to the runway — with no sign of the trend slowing down as we get into the holiday season,” Bianca Gates, CEO and co-founder of Birdies told FN in 2023. Time has proven Gates right as the likes of Zendaya and Emily Ratajkowski have been spotted in ballet flats. Designers like Proenza Schouler and 3.1 Philip Lim showed mesh ballet flats for the spring 2024 season.
