Emmerdale’s Victoria Sugden arrested for assault in shock scenes

EMMERDALE’S Victoria Sugden has been arrested after assaulting Leyla Cavanagh in shock scenes tonight.

The unemployed chef – who is played by actress Isabel Hodgins in the ITV soap – was forced into breaking up with ex-boyfriend Jacob Gallagher by his interfering mother Leyla earlier this month.

Since then his grandfather Eric has waged devastating secret war on her getting her fired from her job.

And now she has been arrested after Leyla blamed her for Jacob deciding to take a break from medical school in the hopes of winning her back.

Furious Leyla decided to blame Victoria for Jacob’s decision.

Seeing her in the village, the wedding planner let rip: “You know you’re not good enough for him. 

“You just dangle the possibility of you and him getting back together and that was enough to distract him. 

“You’re disgusting. You went after his dad and when that didn’t work you just moved onto him. 

“I’ve been right about you from the start. You’re just as bad as Maya.”

With that Victoria slapped Leyla and sent her packing but not before warning her that if she carried on harassing her, Victoria would wipe the floor with her.

However later Victoria was horrified when the police turned up at her door.

As she tried to explain what happened, conceding that she did slap Leyla – but insisting it was in self-defence, the police took action.

They arrested her for assault and marched her out of her cottage as a delighted Leyla looked on.

“Happy now?” shouted Victoria as a sly Leyal coyly smiled from behind her door.
