New Delhi witnessed the initiation of the interpretation process of Article 39(b) of the Constitution by a nine-judge bench of the Supreme Court. The objective is to ascertain if the directive principle permits the government to handle and redistribute privately owned properties under the guise of 'material resources of the community' for the betterment of the common good.
