José Marin Chosen for 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup
NORMAN, Okla. – Maria José Marin of the Arkansas women’s golf team has been selected to represent Team International at the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America and Golf Channel on Tuesday.
In her first season playing collegiate golf, this marks José Marin’s first selection, and she will be the sixth Arkansas women’s golfer and 12th from the men’s and women’s programs to represent the Hogs at the event, as Jacob Skov Olesen of the men’s team has also been chosen to play for Team International this summer. This marks the first time since 2018 Arkansas has had two men’s and women’s golfers play on the same team. The Colombia native is also one of six South Americans in Arnold Palmer Cup history to be selected to play in the event, joining Julian Perico and Mateo Fernandez de Oliveria as one of three from Arkansas.
The 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup, its 28th playing, is set for July 5-7 at Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Ireland. The course overlooks the Atlantic Ocean on the west coach of Ireland and consistently ranked as one of the top 50 golf courses in the world.
This event is a Ryder Cup-style tournament, which features the top men’s and women’s collegiate golfers with a United States team competing against Team International.
