Man caught having sex in Lidl car park bush ‘can’t remember anything’
Two men were caught having noisy sex in the hedge of a Lidl car park in front of shoppers.
The duo was caught in the act just yards away from shoppers in the car park of a Lidl in Cardiff.
Anthony Rees, 56, and Quentin Jones, 28, were spotted fornicating in the bushes near the supermarket car park on Cowbridge Road West in August last year.
The police received reports of exposure from shocked customers, leading them to the men, WalesOnline reports.
Officers saw a pair of legs in the air with white trainers visible and movement in the bushes. Sexual noises, including grunting and moaning, were also heard.
As they approached the foliage, officers saw Rees on top of Jones, engaging in sexual intercourse.
The men were arrested and taken into custody.
Rees said he could not recall what happened due to taking Valium.
Now both men have had their day in court after the public sex act.
Rees, of North Luton Place, Adamsdown, pleaded guilty to outraging public decency on Wednesday, April 25.
He has 13 previous convictions relating to violence and drug offences, according to Media Wales.
Rees, who was unrepresented, was remanded in custody in February after he failed to answer bail.
Judge Christopher Vosper KC sentenced Rees to 12 weeks imprisonment. Because of the time he spent in custody, he will be released imminently.
The 28-year-old Jones, of College Fields, Western Avenue, Llandaff in Cardiff, was sentenced on January 9 to a two-year community order, tagged curfew for three months and 15 days rehabilitation course over a period of six months.
A police spokesperson said: ‘On August 1 last year, two men were arrested and charged with outraging public decency following an incident in a car park in Cardiff.’
