NINETIES RnB and UK garage star Kele Le Roc looks unrecognisable these days.
Kele Le Roc, 48, shot to fame with two top ten smashes 26 years ago, earning her MOBO Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Single.
And while she isn’t topping the charts anymore, the London native is still performing and writing songs.
In an Instagram video posted yesterday, Kele looks incredible with a full face of make-up and a blonde wig.
With Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Want to Have Fun in the background, she says, “I was just thinking to myself, ‘Did I have more fun today than [inaudible].’ And then I thoguht, ‘I always have fun.'”
Kele, real name Kelly Biggs, began her musical journey at the tender age of three and all through her school years at Langdon Comprehensive in East Ham.
Her big breakthrough came in 1995, though, with the underground sensation, Let Me Know.
Garnering widespread acclaim, she notched two top 10 hits on the UK Singles Chart with Little Bit of Lovin’ in 1998 and My Love the following year, both peaking at number eight,
Her solo album, Everybody’s Somebody, released in 1999 under Polydor Records, which proved to be a pinnacle year as she clinched two MOBOs.
Collaborating with a diverse range of artists including Basement Jaxx, Coolio, and Courtney Pine, she solidified her presence in the music industry.

During a recent interview, she told The Edit LDN: “My experience of the garage scene is that it never ended. As with any beloved music scene, it ebbs and flows in and out of mainstream.
“It has definitely had a recent resurgence whilst maintaining its following and cred on the underground.
“Garage crowds never change, they are always filled with elated joy. I’s such a feel good music and the punters really appreciate that.”
