Morning Briefing: Mets Lose Second Straight Series
Good morning, Mets fans!
New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso drove in his historic 200th home run on Saturday afternoon against the Cardinals. Alonso has been chasing that illustrious number 200 for a little while now and on Saturday he accomplished the feat.
But the Mets’ late comeback effort fell short, and they’ve now lost two in a row against the Cardinals. The seesaw of this season has given them a 13-13 overall record, as they’ve cooled off again after a hot stretch.
