Benny Blanco Is Using Aphrodisiacs to ‘Get Laid’ Again
For the second time in as many months, producer and sometimes TikTok chef Benny Blanco is using food as a way into Selena Gomez’s heart, among other things. The couple, who have been dating since late last year, have been known to employ the love language I’m calling “excessively documenting the relationship on social media,” and Blanco’s Monday Instagram post stayed very much in line with that ethos. Blanco’s meal of choice for sealing the deal? Steak.
“I woke up early this morning, and I was like, ‘I want to do something nice for my girlfriend,’” the meatball-maker said in the video, referring to Gomez. “I was thinking, Whenever I want to put a smile on her face or get laid, I just make her steak.”
Monday’s vlog marks the second time Blanco has cooked for Gomez with the dual intent of winning her over and getting “laid.” Last time, the aphrodisiac of the day was, of all things, fried pickles. This time, the 36-year-old walked his followers through his girlfriend-pleasing steak recipe, which he plated with a side Caesar salad with homemade croutons and dressing. “All right, so she’s working today, so my plan is I’m going to make her the fucking best steak dinner she’s ever had, put it in a little fucking Tupperware, tiptoe into her work, sneak in, and then just fully surprise her,” he added.
Except Gomez was not at work — she was at home napping! Bad boyfriend intel. Blanco then proceeded to film himself writing a note for Gomez on a paper towel (“I love you! Sleep well! I made you steak”), which he left on her nightstand. As expected, when she arose from her slumber, Gomez posted a photo of the steak on her Instagram Story with a white heart. I’m not sure I care to know whether or not he got what he wanted out of the meaty affair in the end, but I will begrudgingly admit that it would be nice to have someone bring me my favorite food in “a little fucking Tupperware.” I will unfortunately give you this one, Blanco.
