Gianvito Rossi Photos: His Style Through the Years

Gianvito Rossi is the son of famed Italian shoe designer Sergio Rossi, and grew up in his father’s factories. In 2007, Gianvito Rossi launched his eponymous shoe line, which has been worn by Rihanna, Kate Moss and Gwyneth Paltrow and on many runways. His shoes are handmade with care in Italy, and his classic pumps remain an iconic staple of his collection.

He was named Footwear News’ 2013 Designer of the Year. At the time, the designer told Footwear News that his success has to do with the “lightness and modernity of my design, a different idea of femininity from what we were used to seeing in shoes.” He added that he has a separate aesthetic from his father’s. “I have my own angle and point of view, but I share with him this idea of timelessness instead of just trendy.”
