Did Zayn Malik Just Say He Was Never ‘In Love’ With Gigi?
Having finally come out from under wherever he’s been hiding, Zayn Malik is back on the grid, promoting a new album, and … backhandedly throwing shade at his ex and the mother of his child, Gigi Hadid? On Wednesday, the former 1D singer appeared on an episode of the Zach Sang Show to drum up interest in his latest musical project, Room Under the Stars, which is set to release later this month. But during the conversation, as reported by “Page Six,” Malik remarked that he wasn’t sure if he’s ever “truly been in love.” Is the name Gigi Hadid ringing any bells, my guy?
“I don’t know if I’ve actually truly been in love at this point,” Malik said. “You look back at it with new eyes and you’re like, ‘Well, maybe I wasn’t in love there.’”
“Was it love or is it life experience that we are going through? Who knows,” he continued. “We’re just in situations where we look back at them with different eyes and it’s a completely different situation.”
As a refresher, Gigi and Zayn share 3-year-old daughter Khai after dating on and off over the course of six years, from 2015 to 2021. The relationship ended abruptly after Gigi’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, alleged that Malik had hit her during an argument. (Malik has repeatedly denied that accusation and pleaded no contest to harassment charges.) Despite the dramatic ending, the two have been peacefully co-parenting Khai since their split. Regardless of whether or not Malik was ever in love with Hadid — because technically he didn’t specify — the supermodel has already moved onto another A-lister who not only supports her cashmere sweater brand but takes her to Via Carota and feeds her cheesesteaks.
