Deborra Lee Furness Reveals Her Main Focus Following Hugh Jackman Split
In one of the most shocking splits moments of 2023, Hugh Jackman and his longtime wife Deborra Lee Furness announced they were going their separate ways. And while the news definitely surprised fans, we couldn’t help but think this could be a new opportunity for each of them to grow. When one door closes another opens, after all.
In a recent interview from Furness, it seems the actress is focusing on just that, the joy is starting a new phase. “This is a year of evolution for me,” she told Page Six at a screening of her new movie Force of Nature: The Dry 2. “[I’m] learning a lot about myself and I’m embracing evolution and growth,” she continued. Kudos to her!
With that said, Furness did go on to say that her split and newfound singledom was certainly “scary” along with “every other adjective.” Right now, however, she’s feeling “grateful.”
Speaking of gratitude, she also gave a sweet shoutout to those who have been supporting her along the way. “I say this to all women — your girlfriends are a necessity in life,” she said. So true indeed!
Back in January, Furness gave another candid update on how she was feeling. “It is kind of exciting,” she shared to the Daily Telegraph. “You know what, change, transition, evolution is a little frightening and we are all a bit scared of it but I think it is probably our greatest gift.”
In her new era, Furness has dived headfirst back into acting, something she seemed quite excited about. “There were so many appealing factors for me, a great script by Jane Harper and directed by Robert Connolly,” she said of Force of Nature: The Dry 2. “I love Eric [Bana] and coming home to Australia to shoot in the wilds.”
As for how Jackman is feeling, it seems work has been a priority too. “He is excited for Deadpool [& Wolverine] and being Wolverine again,” a source told Daily Mail in April. “That’s where most of his focus is going – on work and being present for that.”
“When it comes to his love life, he thinks it is funny that so many people are wanting to know all about it. He will get there again. It isn’t a priority, but if something materialized, he would make it a priority,” the insider claimed. “But he is healthy and happy and that is something he cherishes right now.”
Looks like both Furness and Jackman are both keeping their heads high and focusing on the positives right now. Kudos to them!
