Emmerdale fans spot shocking EastEnders crossover as villain turns up in rival soap

EMMERDALE fans have spotted a shocking EastEnders crossover as a villain turns up in the rival soap.

Last night’s episode saw Billy Fletcher struggling to cope after his baby son was diagnosed with a form of Leukaemia.

Billy headed to the hospital to be with wife Dawn, but became frustrated when the car park machine wouldn’t take his money.

As he vented, a car park attendant came over to see if he could help, but Billy was frustrated by his lack of urgency when he told him what was wrong.

However, Emmerdale viewers were distracted by the actor playing the attendant, realising they had seen him in rival soap EastEnders last week.

Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one wrote: “Err wasn’t the parking attendant in Emmerdale today, in EastEnders last week as a boxing host?”

Another added: “Was that car park attendant on now in
@emmerdale,in @bbceastenders last week being the underground boxing organiser ??”

A third tweeted: “Wasn’t this car parking guy the same guy who was the fight organiser in #Eastenders? #emmerdale.”

Indeed actor Ian Gain has appeared in a number of recent episodes of EastEnders as boxing promoter Rufus.

Rufus convinced George Knight to fight in illegal underground boxing matches for money.

That was until George came face to face with his estranged son Junior during last week’s episodes.

However, the first soap Ian appeared in was Coronation Street back in 2002.

He played Mick Hopwood in 39 episodes until 2003 and was the partner of Janice Battersby following her split from husband Les.

Mick was a police officer and had Les unlawfully sent to prison for assaulting him, even though Les had been provoked.

Janice later found out what had happened and when Mick proposed, she turned him down and broke up with him instead, prompting him to leave Weatherfield.
