50 Cent’s Diddy docuseries sold to Netflix, days after Cassie assault video surfaces

50 Cent’s documentary about the sexual assault allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs has landed at Netflix less than a week after disturbing video surfaced of the music mogul beating ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a 2016 incident at a Los Angeles hotel.
The multi-part doc — produced by the rapper’s G-Unit Film and Television Studios — was purchased following a “massive bidding war” involving several networks and all the big streamers, multiple sources familiar with the situation told TMZ.
Though an exact release date for the series was not revealed, the outlet reported that it’s expected “sooner than later.”
The news broke the same day Combs, 54, was sued by yet another accuser. Former model Crystal McKinney said she was sexually assaulted by the Bad Boy Records founder in 2003.
McKinney’s claims are just the latest in a growing mountain of disturbing allegations against the Harlem native.
A “truly sorry” Combs on Sunday issued an apology for the brutal footage CNN published of him throwing Ventura, 37, to the ground, then kicking and dragging her across the floor of the hallway of the since-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City.
“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” said Combs. “I was disgusted then, when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”
Ventura in November accused Combs of rape, sex trafficking and physical abuse in a lawsuit that was settled the following day, allegedly due to Combs becoming aware of the security footage. Several other accusers filed lawsuits against Combs in ensuing weeks and months, with similar allegations, including drugging.
50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, announced his Diddy doc in early December, noting that proceeds from the project would go to victims of sexual assault and rape.
Back in March, federal authorities raided Combs’ homes in Miami and Los Angeles in an operation the Department of Homeland Security confirmed was part of a sex trafficking probe.
In the wake of the raids, 50 Cent teased his project with a poster for “Diddy Do It?”
“This is gonna break records when this drop,” the 48-year-old quipped at the time.
