Ross Matthews Reveals 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Stars He Thinks Should Return to the Show as Judges

Ross Matthews has some ideas on drag queens he’d like to see on the RuPaul’s Drag Race judges panel!

The 44-year-old personality, who has been a full time judge on the show since season seven, was recently asked about which former competitors would make good guest judges.

So far, on the original flagship series, there has not been a past competitor sitting on the panel. There have been queens returning for various other appearances though, including hosting spinoffs in other countries.

“There are a lot of queens from our show who have gone on to extraordinary careers — not just within the Drag Race world, but outside of that as well. But, if I could pick one who I’d want to come and sit and judge for an episode you know, it’d probably have to be Jinkx Monsoon because she knows what it is,” Ross told EW.

He says that Jinkx, who is a two-time winner, “knows what it means to take an opportunity and turn it into something extraordinary.”

Ross also names Bianca Del Rio, another winner, and says she would be “fabulous at it.”

“[Current All Stars 9 competitor] Nina West would be another one,” Ross added, along with “Monét X Change, Bob the Drag Queen. I mean, there’s so many that I’m so proud of — Shea Couleé would be another one — who really created these extraordinary brands for themselves.”

All of the queens Ross named have either won a regular season or an All Stars season, or in the case of Jinkx, both.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season nine is currently releasing new episodes on Paramount+ on Fridays. Nine queens are competing for charity this season!
