Report: Tottenham chiefs fly 10,000 miles to explore new commercial deals
Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur chiefs travelled to Australia along with the playing squad this week to explore new commercial deals for the club.
The Spurs squad flew to Melbourne just days after the end of their Premier League campaign to play a post-season friendly against Newcastle at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Ange Postecoglou’s men lost 5-4 on penalties after the game ended in a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes, with goals from James Maddison and Alexander Isak.
Football Insider have said that while the trip helped Spurs connect with their growing fan base in Australia, the club’s chiefs also used it as an opportunity to consolidate commercial partnerships.
Tottenham search for Australian commercial deals
It is alleged that the North London club’s officials explored further off-pitch deals over the last few days Down Under as Tottenham continue to put a lot of focus into improving their commercial revenue and off-pitch income.
The publication adds that Spurs will also look to use their scheduled trip to Japan in pre-season to explore new potential commercial partnerships in the east Asian country.
