A 3.5-magnitude earthquake in the South Pasadena area shook parts of Southern California on Sunday morning, June 2, the U.S Geological Survey reported.
The quake, at 9:56 a.m., was centered 2.3 miles south southwest of Pasadena, 2.4 miles west southwest of Alhambra, and 3 miles west northwest of Monterey Park.
It could be felt in downtown Los Angeles and elsewhere.
In Pasadena, the quake was described as more of a significant jolt than a rolling temblor.
No damage was immediately reported.
