OKANA resort comes to life as construction continues

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The new OKANA resort and indoor water park in the Horizons District is coming to life as construction continues.

As of May 2024, OKANA has seen plenty of updates to its indoor water park, family entertainment center and hotel.

According to OKANA officials, construction updates include:

Indoor waterpark

• From the wave pool to the Lazy River, this 100,000-square-foot, two-level indoor Waterpark will be a perfect spot for family fun no matter the weather outside.
• The indoor waterpark roof is 75% complete, the exterior skin is 70% complete and the exterior curtain wall is 45% complete.
• The ETFE Skylight installation is complete.
• The Wave Pool has been poured out, the Kid’s Pool has been poured out with slides installed and the Lazy River is 90% poured out.
• The foundations, towers and slides have been installed for the Water Coaster and Ride House slides.
• The pool deck concrete is in progress along with the installation of the pool piping, equipment and systems.  

Family entertainment center

• The Family Entertainment Center will feature interactive arcade games and will be conveniently located between the hotel and indoor water park.
• The family entertainment center roof is 95% complete and the exterior skin/envelope is now 50% complete.
• The skylight installation is complete.
• Interior wall framing, drywall installation in Areas A & B is complete and the installation of the tile in the restrooms and kitchen for Areas A & B has started.

Hotel

• The 11-story hotel will feature 404 rooms and more than 100 suites.
• The hotel roof has been fully completed and the exterior skin/envelope is now 80% complete.
• The first floor exterior glass system is 80% complete.
• The service elevator has been completed and the west passenger elevator is 95% complete and the east passenger elevator is 50% complete.
• Second floor guest rooms and first floor guest rooms are 99% and 95% complete respectively.
• The entrance canopy/valet drop-off is 75% complete with roofing nearing completion.
