During the Lok Sabha election, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath campaigned extensively invoking support in the name of development and the recently consecrated Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Samajwadi Party emerged victorious in two seats and was leading in 35 constituencies.
