CT smoke shop owner arrested for illegally selling THC edibles, flowers and vape cartridges
A New Fairfield smoke shop owner was arrested for illegal sales of narcotics on Tuesday, state police said.
Around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, state troopers along with officers from the New Fairfield Police Department and State of Connecticut drug control agents conducted a routine inspection of the L&A Smoke Shop at 28 Route 39 in New Fairfield, according to the Connecticut State Police.
During the inspection approved by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, agents allegedly seized a significant amount of illegal THC edibles, flowers and vape cartridges, state police said.
The owner of the store, identified as 68-year-old Mohamed Albrashi of Bronx, New York, was located and identified as “the individual that signed the license agreement with the State of Connecticut,” according to state police. “This included the distribution of all products.”
The owner was arrested and charge with sale of a narcotic substance. He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is schedule to appear at Danbury Superior Court on July 2.
