13 years after post-electoral tensions led to the deaths of at least 3,000 people in Ivory Coast, the pain caused by the violence remains. In Abidjan, the remains of fourteen victims will finally be handed over to their loved ones – an immense relief for the families, and a strong symbol for national reconciliation. However, it is impossible to know the exact number of bodies that have yet to be returned. The issue is sensitive and grey areas remain, as FRANCE 24’s team on the ground reports.
