Commenting under a Reddit post, user Sydneekidneybeans shared her step-by-step guide for shaving your legs.
For her first step, the poster highlighted the importance of preparing your skin before using your razor.
“Make sure you are exfoliating before and after shaving,” the Redditor advised.
She recommended using exfoliation gloves for the best results.
The social media user also suggested swapping out a women’s razor for a men’s one.
“[I’m] not sure why women’s razors are pink taxed to hell when they’re flimsier, I’m a fan of the men’s Gillette, very sharp,” she said.
Next, the Redditor revealed the beauty item she uses instead of shaving cream.
“I use conditioner instead of shaving cream, [it] doesn’t have to be fancy,” she said.
“It’s much thicker and coats leg hair evenly, making it easier to be grabbed by the razor.”
She added that she also doesn’t like scented shaving creams as they irritate her skin.
After she finished shaving her legs, the poster broke down her final step.
“I finish off everything in cold water, I don’t know if this prevents hair growth necessarily but my legs are always super smooth and soft,” she said.
“Hot water will strip away your body’s natural oils, cold water traps those oils in.”
The Redditor explained that her tried and tested technique gives her long-lasting results.
“This typically gets me at least 24 hours of smooth legs and took a lot of trial and error,” she wrote.
