Club Closing In On Leeds United Star With Fee Which Works For All Parties

Ligue 1 side Toulouse have taken the lead in the hunt for a Leeds United defender who is expected to be sold by the Whites, with the offer working for the Elland Road side, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

 

Leeds are expected to engage in player trading over the course of the summer transfer window after failing to return to the Premier League.

 

Daniel Farke may lose players he would rather keep, but the Whites boss also has stars who he is willing to offload on the chopping block.

 

 

Centre-back Charlie Cresswell is ready to move on from Elland Road and is well down the pecking order under Farke, who is happy to sell.

 

A host of sides have been looking at signing him, but now Toulouse are firmly in the lead and are ‘closing in’.

 

 

It is suggested that the deal will be worth £3.8m and that is a fee which works for all parties.

 

Toulouse want to get the transfer done quickly and Cresswell is keen to move abroad for the next step in his career.

 

 

The French side finished in eleventh spot in the Ligue 1 standings last season and finished with a minus goal difference, something they will hope Cresswell can help to address.

 

Leeds will bank a good fee for an academy product which will also help to boost their financial position.
