Michael McCaul calls NATO’s Afghanistan withdrawal a stain of shame for US
Nearly four years after NATO’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee called the killing of 13 American soldiers at Kabul Airport in August 2021 a stain on America’s honor.
Mr. McCaul made these remarks a day after the debate between Joe Biden, the President of the United States, and Donald Trump, the former President and presidential candidate of this country.
A day before, Joe Biden had said in an election debate with Donald Trump that he was the only president in a decade under whom no American forces had been killed anywhere in the world under his command.
However, in response to Biden’s remarks, McCaul said, “I want to remind President Biden of the 13 servicemen who lost their lives in a terrorist attack at the Abbey Gate [Kabul Airport] on August 26, 2021, during a deadly and chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan under his watch.”
Yet, the killing of 13 American soldiers at Kabul Airport in August 2021 remains the most catastrophic and shameful blot on America and future generations of this country.
The first televised debate between Joe Biden, the Democratic President of the United States, and Donald Trump, the former President and Republican presidential nominee this year, was held on Thursday night local time and took place at the “CNN” network studio in Atlanta for 90 minutes.
In addition, Joe Biden’s appearance and performance in the debate, which stirred criticisms and responses among senior officials, legislators, political experts, influential groups, and civil institutions, have been critical to even some of his supporters and allies calling for his departure.
