Featured Artist: Heidi Grande

We are so excited to feature artist Heidi Grande! Heidi is a Tucson-based botanical jeweler who masterfully blends her passions for art and the natural world into unique pieces that exquisitely distill the very essence of nature’s beauty.

Where are you from?

Flagstaff, AZ

What got you started making art?

I wanted a way to preserve all of the beautiful aspen leaves I would find in Flagstaff in the Fall. Early on, I only made aspen leaf earrings as gifts for my friends and family.

What’s your artistic background? (experience, education, etc.)

I have no art education, I actually studied microbiology in college. My craft started as a hobby and has slowly evolved into a small business.

Where do you get your inspiration for your art?

Nature! I aim to only use botanicals found in the Sonoran desert or Northern Arizona in my pieces.

What brought you to BICAS?

The BICAS Art Mart. I was a vendor in March. I have also attended one of the art corner evenings. I made an awesome pair of bike spoke hoop earrings!

How has BICAS affected you?

BICAS has been an amazong place to share and sell my art. I love the inclusiveness of the events hosted here.

Why did you work with BICAS at Art Mart?

Everyone at BICAS is so kind! The Art Mart is very well organized.
