Yves Bissouma and Spurs youngsters react to Archie Gray transfer announcement

Yves Bissouma and several other Tottenham players have welcomed Archie Gray to the club after the midfielder completed a switch from Leeds United.

Gray becomes Tottenham’s first big capture of the summer transfer window, with the 18-year-old arriving at Hotspur Way with a big reputation on the back of a breakout season at Leeds United.

Although a midfielder by trade, the teenager is rather versatile, having operated at right-back on many occasions for Daniel Farke’s men last season.

The youngster will certainly face quite a few challenges, given the step up in quality in the Premier League but he admitted in his first interview with the club’s official channel that he will give his all in training and try to push for a place in the starting eleven.

Gray also revealed that he knows a number of the youth players at Spurs, and several of them, including the likes of Dane Scarlett, Ashley Phillips and Jamie Donley all posted ‘welcome’ messages.

Bissouma, who could well be competing with the teenager for a place in the side, also commented on Gray’s Instagram post, with the 27-year-old writing: “Welcome to the family crackito.”

The fact that Gray knows some of the academy players at Spurs from their time together with England’s youth sides should make it easier for the midfielder to settle into his new surroundings.

Hopefully, some of them will get minutes alongside him next season too!
