PM Modi laughs whole-heartedly with India’s T20 World Cup Champions- Poses for photos
The last meeting of PM Narendra Modi and the Indian cricketers was on 19 November 2023, where the spirits of everyone was low. The cricketer’s shoulders were dropped, and their heads were low. PM held hands of captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to cheer them up, along with pats on the back of other players and the support staff members. This was moments after Team India lost to Australia in the ODI World Cup final in Ahmedabad.
Fast forward to 4th July 2024 – a bit over 7 months since those grim moments at the Indian dressing room, PM Modi met team India again, this time at his own residence in New Delhi. The letters of the word ‘Champions’ written in bold on the special jerseys of the Indian cricketers were visible from far away. The bright stars on top of the BCCI logo were shining as bright as the sun.
PM Modi hosted the T20 World Cup Champions 2024, Team India, at a private ceremony at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.
The players were sat in a circle around the PM. Captain Rohit Sharma was on the right side of PM Modi, while the head coach Rahul Dravid was at the left side of PM Modi. Following Rohit Sharma, vice-captain Hardik Pandya was also sitting on the right side of PM Modi whereas star batter Virat Kohli and Japrit Bumrah were further down the line on the left side after Rahul dravid.
The PM candidly chatted and laughed with all the Indian cricketers and also posed for a beautiful photograph with the entire team and the T20 World Cup trophy.
