Taylor Swift Has Made This Intention Clear About Her Personal Life After Dating Joe Alwyn
During Taylor Swift’s six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn, she made clear romance choices that may not have suited her in the long run. Now that she’s almost a year into her whirlwind love affair with Travis Kelce, the 34-year-old pop star is prioritizing her personal needs.
While “Taylor is head over heels in love with Travis,” she’s also making sure they’re “on the same page about getting married,” according to a Life & Style source. “She doesn’t want to waste more time” after feeling disappointed by the end of her Alwyn relationship because of the sacrifices she made. From moving to London to “reeling in her outgoing personality because he was more of a homebody,” Swift learned the hard lesson that she let a part of herself go to accommodate somebody else.
“They’d spoken about starting a family and she patiently waited for him to propose. Every time Joe would arrange a romantic vacation or quiet dinner, she imagined the time had come,” the insider divulged. “But after almost seven years, Joe was dragging his feet and she had to walk away.” If there’s one thing Swifties know about Kelce is how different he is from her ex. He would rather sing her praises from the rooftop. As he said on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast, “It’s like, you want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything,” he said. “That’s my girl, that’s my lady, I’m proud of that!”
That’s a marked difference from Alwyn, who was often uncomfortable when he was asked about his super-successful girlfriend. “I’m aware people want to know about that side of things,” he said to British Vogue in 2018. “I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people…but I really prefer to talk about work.” It’s OK to seek privacy, but when it goes to extremes, it can feel like you are hiding something about the relationship.
Swift has leaned into Kelce’s approach when it comes to their relationship because they seem to want the same things out of life. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she told Time last December. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.” It’s a match made in heaven!
