UK’s biggest outdoor waterpark reveals brand new ‘island’ attraction open this summer

A POPULAR outdoor waterpark has announced the launch of its brand-new “island” attraction as it opens the doors to visitors.

Splashdown Quaywest is back for the summer, welcoming families from around the UK with new exciting rides.

The waterpark, perfectly situated alongside the English Riviera, boasts 16 splashy attractions.

If the weather allows it, you can enjoy sunny days outside leaping down the thrilling ride as the park remains open for the next two months.

This year, the Splashdown had a new addition to its range with a Shipwreck island – ideal for the little ones.

The giant aqua-play area is equipped with interactive water features, including a tipping bucket, slides and sprays.

There is also a single-rider body slides, without the need for mats or rings, which is perfect for kids under the age of 12.

For those of you who are older, there are plenty of attractions to explore as well.

The Screamer which shoots you down the steep 60-degree slide at a fast speed can be perfect for the thrill seekers.

Adrenaline junkies might love the Wild Kamikaze where they will swiftly speed through a 60-meter slope and descend three sharp drops.

The fastest and highest flume in the UK, the Devil’s Drop allows swimmers to dive into a black hole after plunging 65 feet down a nearly vertical drop.

Last year, the waterpark introduced 3Fall – a head first mat racer ride which already proved popular.

If you want a break from the action-packed day, you can opt for a quiet escape as you relax in the swimming area or on sun terraces.

The standard tickets for the Splashdown start at £18 per person for adults and kids over the age of nine.

The English Riviera, where the park is located, is renowned for its gorgeous seaside towns, including one that’s just three hours from London.

As summer quickly approaches, Brits are searching for a sun soaked destination within budget, and this Devon beach may be the perfect answer.
