Nearly 2,000 Afghan refugees deported from Iran and Pakistan
The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation stated that nearly 2,000 Afghan migrants have been expelled from Iran and Pakistan. According to the ministry’s newsletter released today, Sunday, July 7th, 1,929 Afghan migrants were expelled by the governments of Pakistan and Iran.
Based on the newsletter, those expelled entered the country through various border points, including Torghundi, Spin Boldak, Islam Qala in Herat province, and Ishkashim in Nimroz province.
Meanwhile, despite international reactions, the trend of deporting Afghan migrants from Iran and Pakistan continues.
The wave of Afghan migrant deportations, especially from Pakistan, has increased in recent months amidst dire humanitarian conditions in Afghanistan and ongoing security threats.
The forced deportations of Afghan refugees from Pakistan and Iran have sparked significant concern and criticism internationally. The United Nations and humanitarian organizations have condemned these actions, citing the precarious situation in Afghanistan, where conflict, economic instability, and drought have exacerbated humanitarian needs.
