Join Fear the Sword as a volunteer writer

We’re looking for volunteers for the upcoming season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are set to begin what should be an exciting 2024-25 season. There’s no shortage of storylines with new head coach Kenny Atkinson, lingering questions about how the core fits together, the continued development of Evan Mobley, and so much more. Fear the Sword is looking for additional writers to help cover those stories.

We have an opening for volunteer writers at this time. This is an unpaid position which is how each of our current staff writers began their journey at FTS.

I started blogging about the Cavs before the 2014-15 season and continued doing so at various sites until coming to FTS in 2019. I started as an unpaid volunteer here and worked my way into a paid position a few years later and was eventually named editor.

Your path to writing for FTS doesn’t need to be the same as mine. We’re ideally looking for people who have some experience writing for a website, but that isn’t a dealbreaker. Most importantly, we’re looking for people who are passionate about Cavs basketball and are seeking an outlet to share their opinions.
