Lauren Boebert compares government funding bill to a 'Diddy freak-off'

Firebrand Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) on Wednesday touted a doomed GOP-backed bill that would require people to prove their citizenship when registering to vote and blasted a proposed temporary funding measure by comparing it to parties held by accused sex trafficker and music star Sean "Diddy" Combs.

Speaking to far-right former law clerk Mike Davis on Steve Bannon's "War Room" show, Boebert begged for donations for her and fellow Republicans, citing impending standoffs with Democrats over a temporary funding bill to avert a government shutdown and the so-called SAVE Act, which would add proof of citizenship requirements for voting.

"The SAVE Act is a great bill that would secure our elections from illegal aliens voting in there. Require voter ID," said Boebert.

She then turned her focus on a proposal to fund the government.

"This [continuing resolution] that we're going to vote on today, it's going to screw our country more times over than a Diddy 'freak-off,'" she said.

The term refers to coercive sexual performances that authorities have said were organized by Combs. Victims who were often under the influence of alcohol and drugs were recorded as they were forced to participate in prolonged sex acts, federal authorities said. Combs faces federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering

"So I am not voting for this. This is something we've got to stop funding this chaos. This madness. I'm a 'no' vote on the CR. I'm tired of the rubber stamping. I'm tired of the reckless spending."

House Republicans on Wednesday evening voted against their plan to avoid a shutdown at the end of the month.

Former President Donald Trump has called on his party to shut down the federal government unless the funding bill included the increased voter registration requirement.

In the same conversation, Boebert said she expects God will send a "mighty army" to stop the left in Colorado and help her and fellow Republicans succeed.
