Queen’s Park’s popular ‘Tickets for Schools’ initiative returns with Mount Florida Primary this weekend
Queen’s Park’s ‘Tickets for Schools' initiative that saw over 1,000 children, teachers and supporting adults attend home games last season returns this Saturday when children from nearby Mount Florida Primary take in the game with Ayr United at Hampden.
First team player Jack Tuner visited the school this week to hand over the Match Tickets as well as Black and White scarves.
Jack said: “The ‘Tickets for Schools’ initiative is a great way of bringing new fans to our games. It was great to go into Mount Florida and meet the children.
“I will be looking out for the pupils at Hampden against Ayr this weekend.”
Kieran Koszary, who is Head of Commercial at Queen’s Park said: “Our Tickets for Schools programme was a tremendous success in season 2023/ 24. It is great that it is kicking off this weekend in our first game back at Hampden.
“For many of the children that come along it is their first ever experience of watching a football match. I am sure that a good number of them will come back and form part of our supporters of tomorrow.
“The players were terrific last season in giving up their time and it was great to have Jack come along and speak with the children.”
Last season pupils from fifteen schools were welcomed to Queen’s Park games, many of them transported to and from the National Stadium free of charge from club partners McDades Coaches with Kieran adding: “McDades coaches help make ‘Tickets for Schools’ happen and whilst they will not be needed for the short trip from Mount Florida having them onboard again is terrific.”
